"Genoemd naar Karel Johannes Julianus Lotsij, bekend onder de naam Lotsy (1893 - 1959), een Nederlandse sportbestuurder. Van 1917 tot 1919 was Lotsy voorzitter van de Haarlemse voetbalvereniging HFC. Tussen 1942 en 1952 was hij voorzitter van de Koninklijke Nederlandse Voetbalbond. Hij was driemaal chef de mission bij de Olympische Spelen (Berlijn 1936, Londen 1948 en Helsinki 1952). In 1959 werd hij de eerste voorzitter van de Nederlandse Sport Federatie. Lotsy, die in veel takken van sport grote invloed had, stond bekend als een dynamische en charmante figuur, die voortreffelijk kon organiseren. Wegens zijn grote verdiensten is hij talloze malen onderscheiden. In het dagelijks leven was hij directeur van een verzekeringsmaatschappij."@nl |
