| schema:text | "At the end of the nineties, a number of predominantly young photographers were commissioned by the BMW Group to perform artistic work focusing on the subject of mobility. The BMW Group handed over in April 2005, at the site of the new BMW Leipzig plant, the entire collection bearing the title "AutoWerke" as a donation to the Museum der bildenden Künste Leipzig. [The concept and title, Motor Blues is] predominantly derived from and inspired by the work of Beat Streuli. For a period of two years, all of the artists were granted access to every area of the company, including even employees' homes ... we are not interested in market analyses and customer surveys alone. It is equally as crucial to sense the recognition of our cars and brand via the medium of art."--Page 6. |

| schema:text | "The collection includes also a special project that BMW assigned to six British artists as an open commissioned work with the words, 'Making your dreams come true.' Photos came about with specifically British subjects. Some works, however, also refer to the subject of mobility, such as the course of a horse race or the portraits of youthful ravers travelling around the world as modern globetrotters."--Page 18. |
