schema:abstract ""The end of the 19th century in the art world. Particularly in Europe, the literary and artistic trends that prevailed at a time when morbid, decadent, and pessimistic tendencies dominated people's minds were known as fin-de-siècle art, and their expressions had a profound influence on later generations. In a narrow sense, fin-de-siècle art encompassed Symbolism, which emphasized subjectivity and depicted the inner world, and Art Nouveau, which was closely associated with Japan and mainly focused on organic sinuous curves seen in plants and animals. In a broad sense, the art developed while also encompassing the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood of the Victorian era in England and Post-Impressionist. One of the factors behind this was the rapid development of science and culture which is represented by the construction of the Eiffel Tower in Paris in 1889, while during this period of 19th century Europe, Friedrich Nietzsche and other's pessimistic philosophy was sympatheticallt accepted by people who were against the changing environment. It was in France that these obvious signs were most pronounced and produced unique works of art, and this is a distant reason that led to present Paris' international reputation as a capital of the arts. Toulouse-Lautrec and Alphonse Mucha in Paris, Aubrey Beardsley and Edward Burne-Jones in London, James Ensor in Belgium, Edvard Munch in Berlin, and Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele in Vienna were active at the end of the century. The year 2022 marks the 160th anniversary of the birth of Gustav Klimt, a representative of fin-de-siècle art who led the Vienna Secession and created a bewitchingly beautiful world. To commemorate this event, The History of Artistic Creation in Japan 27 will look back on the numerous works of fin-de-siècle art that flourished from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century and are still very popular today, along with representative works by the artists active at the time."-- Provided by publisher."@en
