Ellsworth Kelly décide de faire don au Centre Pompidou d'une de ses œuvres les plus célèbres, "Window, Museum or Modern Art, Paris" (1949), devenue depuis sa création l'un des jalons majeurs de l'histoire de l'art du XXème siècle. Bien que sa peinture soit d'apparence abstraite, elle reprend en réalité le motif de la structure de la fenêtre du Palais de Tokyo. C'est le principe du "already made" tel que l'a nommé Kelly lui-même. En hommage à ce don exceptionnel, le Centre Pompidou accueille la série de 6 œuvres portant le titre "Fenêtre"."@en |
