"René-François-Xavier Prinet (1861-1946), a former student of Gérôme, founder of La Grande Chaumière workshops alongside Antoine Bourdelle and Lucien Simon, began his career in 1900 following the World Expo. He participates in various Parisian and foreign salons, becoming a jury member at the Carnegie Institute in Pittsburgh, well known for its international exhibitions. It is with the Société Nouvelle, under the presidency of Auguste Rodin, that Prinet presents, at the famous Georges-Petit gallery, his interiors giving life to the daily life of his environment, revealing "the latent poetry of things". Housed in his villa "Double-Six" in Cabourg, near the Casino and the Grand Hotel, he renews the pictorial genre of the description of the beaches of Normandy.
