"Prints made from the photographic process in which the developed silver in a gelatin print is used as a catalyst to tan the gelatin, and the untanned highlights are used as a resist to a greasy ink. The original plate may be the end product or may be used as a master for transferring the image to another support. Resulting prints resemble etchings or lithographs.
