"Catalogue of oil paintings by George Henry Hall, N.A. Subjects : figures, heads, fruit, flowers and landscapes; together with several copies from the old masters painted by mr. Hall. Also on exhibition and offered at private sale a fine old copy, painted in the 16th century of the 'Danaë'of Titian, from the original in the Museum of Naples and 'The Education of the Virgin'by Rubens, copy made by mr. Hall in 1850, the original is in the Museum of Antwerp. These two copies would be valuable acquisitions to a public gallery of art school [Ortgies & Somerville, 1888]"
