sdo:abstract "In Amsterdam, Deichsel visits the asylum and explains how much one has to pay for visiting. He then describes the Oudemannen and the Oudevrouwenhuis and compliments their decor. He visits the Admiralty and describes a ship named Amsterdam. He describes the stock exchange, then moves on to a general description of the city with the Plantage and several gardens, comparing it to woods. He explains that it is not uncommon for people to attach large dogs to carriages to transport goods. He also explains that one can see the whole city from atop a tower, and admires its chimes. He then discusses different religions in the city."
