"Nicodemus Tessin is in The Hague. Tessin mentions as the best marbleizer the painter Nijmegen, and he describes his work. He mentions having seen marbleized work by Nijmegen at "General and Marquis de Monpilian". He comments on having met the countess Horn, Bentinck, Mr. D'Alonne, Count Solmer, Mr d'Auerkerk, Audijck, Willars, Dijckfelt. Tessin comments on the large assembles at the court on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. In Delft, Tessin describes the grave of Willem of Orange and informs us how he has died. He praises the sculptures and the marbleized colonnades, but critiques the lack of ordonnance of the design. In the old church, Tessin visits the epitaph of Tromp by Verhulst."
