"Nicodemus Tessin visits Huis ten Bosch on the other side of The Hague. He describes the large hall painted by Jordaens and others [Oranjezaal]. He comments on the interior and grisaille ceiling (drawn by Marot). He finds the garden under construction after design by the lord of Sint-Annalandt, and in it he recognizes the design of the parterre from Chantilly. He visits the designer's country estate Santannelandt [Clingendaal] after; he comments negatively on its size. Tessin starts describing its garden."
