"Antonio Donato is in Amsterdam, and visits the fish market, noting the young and beautiful women selling good fish. He comments on the Duch population, being 'in love with money'. Donato compares Amsterdam with how Venice used to be in its heyday. The next day, Donato enjoys the city with merchant Calandrino from Lucca until he leaves at 22u, spending the night in Haarlem. The next day, he passes by Leiden, and arrives at 23u in The Hague. He is greeted by the resident Suriano. Donato sends his secretary to announce his arrival to Prince Maurice and William, count of Nassau. The next morning they come to visit him; they converse in French."
