"The ambassador Pietro Contarini and his chaplain Orazio Busino are in The Hague. They meet Maurice and Frederik Hendrik, and these princes recently widowed sister and two of her daughters. The next morning, Contarini visits the city and the surroundings together with Falghiero in the carriage of Suriano. Noted are the woods with deer, and that the old church, which used to belong to the Order of Friars Minor, was now given to the remonstrants. That afternoon, Contarini presents two credential letters to Maurice, and after visits the ambassador of England. Later he pays tribute to the States General; Busino describes the hall and seating position. On their way out, they pass a salon filled with trophees of the war with Spain. He has lunch in the local fashion."
