"Marcantonio Correr is on his way back to Venice from London. He embarks a boat on the Thames to Gravesend. In Gravesend, he embarks a boat to Vlissingen. On arrival, they send the cargo ahead to Middelburg. Due to a mistake of the rowers, Correr has to land a mile away from Vlissingen at the Fort Rammekens. At the fort they see an English garrison of 100 infantrymen. The travel party arrives in Vlissingen, entering through a recently built gate. The author describes the square with some shops. He comments on the city's government and the city's position."
