"From Maaslandsluis, Haller travels to an island on the river Maas, then takes a carriage to Den Briel, which he starts describing. He is not very impressed by the fortifications. He recalls an obligation to show his passport for England and to pay a fee. He notes that with permission of the English resident in The Hague, one can even be allowed in a special boat. He then goes to Hellevoetsluis by boat. He describes Hellevoetsluis and notes that warships can pass through."
