Several cabinets that he had read about were according to Somer not available anymore: the collectors Volckersen and Georg Regust had passed way and the collections of Lucca Occone, John Sir and Philipp de Flines were sold and dispersed. From the latter collection, Somer had bought most. Uffenbach mentions the collection of Swammerdam and its catalogue."
