"The Uffenbach brothers are in Amsterdam, visiting Balthasar Scheid from Strasbourg to see his collection of shells. Uffenbach notes several of the contents, including the "Brod-Götzen" [bread-idols] from Dutch East India and several minerals. He also deals with flowers, and tells them that D. Eberhard in Frankfurt purchases regularly at him. After this visit, the brothers go to Visscher's shop, where De Leth shows them three alabaster vases from Florence and several beautiful paintings, including a landscape by Berchem and a piece by Wouwerman."
