"The Uffenbach brothers are in Amsterdam, visiting Balthasar Scheid from Strasbourg to see his collection of shells. Uffenbach informs us that he deals with these objects too. According to Scheid, cleaning sells with buttermilk - as they had been told by Wermuth in Gotha - was wrong. He then explains the best way to do it. Besides shells, Uffenbach describes other naturalia in his possession, including rock crystal, crabs and a Mexican root."
