sdo:abstract "In Amsterdam, the Uffenbach brothers visit the traveler Cornelis de Bruijn. Uffenbach is discussing the strange characters in the inscriptions De Bruijn brought from Persepolis and his drawings from Ispahan and the surroundings. De Bruijn tells him that he had printed only 1,000 copies of his Persian travels, to keep it rare and valuable. Finally, De Bruijn shows them Mongolian miniature drawings. Uffenbach comments on their obscenity. That afternoon, the brothers visit the merchant Hendrik ten Kate - a cousin of Lambert ten Kate and a stepbrother of Amourij - to see his preparations of reptiles and animals."
