"On July 24, Sidney arrives in the Netherlands on the river Maas and his boat casts anchor near Den Briel. On July 25, he arrives in the Hague in the evening, but learns that the Prince is absent. He decides to write a few short letters and speaks with the secretary at the English embassy. The next day, he calls at Pensionary Gaspar Fagel's, who informs him that the Dutch are currently very well disposed towards the English."
