"In Amsterdam, the Uffenbach brothers visit the famous critic Ludolph Küsterum. They depart quickly when they realize he only talks about England and how he went to Cambridge to make an edition of Suida. They then search for Dippel, but hear he would not be around for several months. The next morning, the brothers visit Sibert van der Schelling to see his collection of paintings and drawings. Uffenbach notes the best works in the collection: Salvator Rosa (landscapes), "John Jans" (Cain and Abel), Carl Cotti (portraits), Mola (landscape), Bambosch [Pieter van Laer] (landscape), Brouwer (smokers), Burgognon [Jacques Courtois] (battle) and Johan Liss (Mary Magdalena). He praises the Brouwer and the Liss seperately."
