"The Uffenbach brothers are in Amsterdam, visiting the mennonite David Amoree to see his collection of paintings and medals. Uffenbach notes paintings by Jordaens (Fable of the satyr and the peasant), Brueghel (landscape), Jan Baptist Weenix (hunting piece), De Lairesse (allegory), and Van Dyck (Samson and Delilah). Uffenbach praises the latter for Van Dyck's excellent depiction of the emotions, and informs us that Amoree had paid 7,000 guilders for it. Uffenbach mentions a Crucifixion painted and lacquared by Le Blon. Amoree also had modern and antique statues and busts. Uffenbach mentions further some medals and miniatures."
