"The Uffenbach brothers are in Amsterdam, visiting the porcellain shop of the jeweler Schelde. Schelde shows them proudly 96 large platters, which had been admired by Prince Eugene during his visit. Uffenbach comments on the porcelain chandelier. The brothers wonder about the fragility of all the wares. Schelde tells them he only sells antique porcelain, the kind imported by the Portugese from India before the Dutch started trading with it."
