"The Uffenbach brothers are in Amsterdam, visiting the coin collection from the late Paolo van Uchelen's. He shows them the memorial medal that was made on the 25 year wedding anniversary of his parents. Uffenbach mentions that Van Uchelen owns a large collection of porcellain objects and paintings by Dutch masters, including Brouwer and Vosterman. Uffenbach does not remember who painted the beautiful flower piece here, "by the oldest and best master of Holland". The next morning, they visit Tiberius Hemsterhuysen. Uffenbach is not impressed by his knowledge and does not stay long."
