"The Uffenbach brothers are in the Prinsenhof in Haarlem, looking at the paintings. Uffenbach explains a verse that was made about a painting and the liefhebber "Luyt" who had allegedly offered 600 guilders for this work because of the foot portrayed in it. The verse was a commentary on Gisbert Voet. They see a small marine painting on panel and a beheading-scene, from old unknown masters. The ceiling shows a Mercurius. The mantelpiece was a Vulcanus by De Braij. Uffenbach mentions an allegorical painting celebrating Willem of Orange and explains the iconography of him riding a lion. In another room, Uffenbach mentions a painting with Mary and child in an Italian manner."
