"The Uffenbach brothers are in The Hague visiting Jean Aymon. Aymon shows them a book in folio included prints of plants after life; Uffenbach notes down the process of this. Uffenbach comments on Aymon's personality and unlawful possessions. The next morning the brothers visit Don Juan, steward of the envoys from Venice. Don Juan had heard from Brandt that Uffenbach had bought several medals and had send him a catalogue of 150 rare medals he had for sale. Uffenbach suspects these were fakes."
