"In Leiden, Skippon explains how turf is made. He describes the houses in the nearby countryside. He goes from Leiden to Zevenhuizen, then takes a boat to a wood, where he explains how people hunt birds. The next day, he goes to Haarlem and describes the city hall, then the Prinsenhof where he mentions several paintings. In the garden, he describes the statues of Laurens Coster that were recently removed, as well as small bird sculptures and an inscription dedicated to a man who married a twenty-two year old woman at age 111. He visits the meat market, a hospital and the Sint Bavokerk. He mentions a new church in the city and the city gates."
