"The Uffenbach brothers are in Leiden, visiting the Burcht van Leiden with "Mr. Rips". Uffenbach refers to information in Orlers' Beschrijvinge der stad Leyden (1641) about the Burgraves of Wassenaer. He refers to Benthem's Holländische Kirchen- und Schulen-Staat (vol. I, II, p. 112) regarding an old or alternative name of the castle. Finally, he refers to Misson (Voyages III, p. 149) about the story of the fish that was caught in the well in the Burcht. After the Burcht, the brothers visit the Lutheran church, the Armenhuis and the Weeshuis."
