"Uffenbach is in the book shop of Johannes Ritto and comments on the high price for a book with "sotadic figures". The afternoon the brothers visit the porcellain dealer "Bard" again, and Uffenbach buys tea. Uffenbach spends the following days packing up the book he purchased in shops and auctions in The Hague, to be send to his merchant in Amsterdam. They attempt to visit the iron monger "Reugelaar" to see his curiosities and books, but in vain. They visit again Brandt to go through his medals, and Uffenbach buys forty - they were three times more expensive than before."
