"The Uffenbach brothers are visiting the son of the innkeeper, the flower painter Conrad Ruppel. He shows them a fruit still life painting by Mignon, several bas reliefs made in marble and two plaster casts of a sleeping and a kneeling Venus. The sleeping Venus is said to have been cast 100 years ago in an Italian academy. The brothers then visit an old bookseller, where they buy several Italian books and Dutch manuscripts. The bookseller had also sixty Dutch and Brabantian coin books for 100 guilders and a portrait of Joseph Scaliger, which he estimated at 20 ducats. In the afternoon they visit the catholic priest "Dissing", to see the art works he had inherited from Johannes van Achelom."
