"Uffenbach completes his description of the group portrait of the regents of the Oudemannenhuis in Rotterdam from 1653, and informs us that the painter had lived in the house as emeritus. In the afternoon, they visit the silversmith Gerard Jonckheer, where they see a beautiful table made from black basanite, and decorated with mother-of-pearl flowers and insects, produced in Amsterdam by Dirk van Ryswyck. Uffenbach refers to Fokkens's 'Beschrijvinge der wijdt-vermaarde koop-stadt Amstelredam' 1664, p. 396, in which the table is praised. Jonckheer had inherited this table. The table was estimated at 12,000 guilders. The next day, the brothers are saying their goodbyes."
