sdo:abstract "On their way to Rotterdam from Gouda, the Uffenbach brothers encounter the so-called rolbrug [retractable bridge]. Uffenbach explains how it works. Just before Rotterdam they encounter many windmills and ship building sites. Uffenbach comments that although they are interested to visit these ship building sites, they decided not to bother the trouble of getting permission from the Rotterdam Admirality since they could visit similar ones in Amsterdam. After arriving in Rotterdam, they visit again the Oudemannenhuis to see the regent's room. They visit Engelbrecht again in his room, and he shows them several other art objects, including a boxwood bas-relief of Caritas with three children."
