"Uffenbach is in Rotterdam visiting Cornelis van Alkemade, who is explaining a new, less expensive printing process. The next day, they stop by to visit Pierre Jurieu, but he excuses himself because he was unwell. Later the brothers hear from Fritsch that Jurieu does not receive strangers anymore because of his old and frail state, and that he had gotten depressed since his wife left him to follow the new prophets Cavalier and Marion. Then they visit Abraham von Meinertshagen."
