"Uffenbach is in a curiosities shop on the Nieuwendijk in Amsterdam, and mentions that this shop had many new artificalia as well, and specifies two large drinking vessels made from lapide nephritico. The next morning they visit Van Beuningen on the Singel. They had met the other day in the shop of Nicolaes Visscher, and were invited at his home to view his collection. Uffenbach describes the collection as 150 of the most beautiful paintings by the most famous masters, and praises the paintings by Rubens and Brueghel produced in tandem in particular. He also praises the beautifully guilded frames, especially the one including snakes that frames a painting by the Brazen Serpent. He comments on a small ivory cut piece above the fireplace mantel as being beautifully executed."
