He also tells them that when he was in Nijmegen, many coins were discovered during the renovation of the fortification and the city walls. Coetier was an acquintance of Smetius, whose coin cabinet was sold for 20.000 guilders to the Elector of Pfalz. Coetier tells several stories about Smetius. They discuss the Roman seals that Coetier bought in Amsterdam from "one Jew"."
