"The Uffenbachs are walking on the city wall in Leeuwarden. Uffenbach comments on the lime trees and the smell coming from the privies. He compares the city with Groningen. He mentions the old castle and the house in which the stadtholder / prince live. The brothers embark a schuit to Franeker, where they sleep poorly in the inn "Falken". The next day, they visit several bookdealers and bookbinders in Franeker. According to Uffenbach they sell nothing special, just new and common books for the students. They receive information about the professors and lectures."
