"The Uffenbach brothers are traveling by barge from Dokkum to Leeuwarden. On the schuit, they exchange information about the collapsing of the Der Aa-kerk in Groningen with fellow passengers "Van Alst". In Leeuwarden, the brothers sleep in the inn 'Vergulden Hoofd' close to the Waag. They have a walk through Leeuwarden and pass by the "Prinsenhof". Uffenbach comments on the marching guards of the Prince."
