"Wash and prepare azurite.
Take as much azurite as you want, pour good strong white vinegar over it so that it becomes like a mush Let that stand for three days, then drain the top one. Pour pure water over it, stir and swing it three times, allowing it to settle each time so that the pigment is not poured into the drain. Do the last flush with good hot lye. Then let it dry again and keep it dust-free. Temper it with the sixth binder that is listed in the front of the book."
