"Green feathers or bone. Do everything as described above (36r) except for the color. Take two parts of verdigris and two thirds of salmiac; rub this well on a mullar. Put it in a long glazed bird dish, pour good strong vinegar over it and put the feathers in. Leave them well covered until you can see that they are green. Then take them out, let them dry, paint them with varnish, then stickt hem up to dry."
