"121 - Red like BloodPut 6 lbs of lead glass and 10 lbs of common glass into a large crucible glazed with white glass. When the glass is cooked and clarified, throw some red copper into it. The way to make this I have taught [in chapter 24]. Use your discretion in adding it, and leave it to incorporate. Now stir the glass well and add the dregs of red wine, pulverized thoroughly, and the glass will become red like blood. If it does not colour enough, add more red copper and wine dregs until it becomes this colour. When [making] vessels, reheat [strike it] so it will form without a doubt."
