"Still describing the land yacht (a chariot with sails) once owned by Maurice, Prince of Orange (see p. 140), Hegenitius remembers its inventor, the military engineer Simon Stevin (1548-1620), supported by a poem written by Hugo Grotius (1583-1645). Arrived in Leusden, Hegenitius reads the inscription on two baptismal fonts, remembering the legend of Countess Margaretha who gave birth to 365 children."
