"Hegenitius describes the commercial, maritime and demographic development of Stavoren, whose inhabitants are supposed to be the first to have crossed the strait of Øresund. As a proof of the extent of the city's influence, Hegenitius reads two ancient inscriptions in latin remembering the city in Nijmegen (see also p. 47)."
