"Cornelis Meesz, representing Peter Ewoutsz, burgher and merchant of Antwerp, sues Jan Jansz, goldsmith, burgher of this city, stating that the plaintiff sold the defendant a gold ring with an engraved carnelian signet stone, for 10 Karolus guldens, to be paid whenever one of the plaintiff’s children were to get married. The plaintiff demands that the defendant provide a bond for that payment or that his goods be sequestered to be sold, plus costs. On March 5, both these cases were scheduled to be heard the next days."
