"David Egbertsz, representing the officers and examiners of the St. Joseph’s confraternity held in Leiden’s Pieterskerk, sues Adriane the second-hand dealer, widow of Master Jan Huygenz, accusing her of selling cabinetry against the ordinances of their charter, demanding a fine of 24 stuvers, plus costs. The defendant denied the charge. The court decided that if the officers were to make a sworn statement to the validity of their demand the court would uphold their claim."
