| sdo:abstract | "David Egbertsz, representing Jan Cornelisz of Hazerswoude lays claim to the sequestered funds in the possession of Allert Jacopsz, painter, and his sister Cornelia Jacopsdr, children of Jacop Adriaensz, painter, who lived in the St. Pieterskerk Steeg, and in the possession of Quyryn Allertsz, former brewer, belonging to the aforesaid Jacop Adriaensz, stating that he, the plaintiff, had a lease from the defendant on timber land in Benthuysen, as documented, which the defendant’s children claimed to own because they claim their father never had the right to alienate it; and for that reason the plaintiff demands to be freed from their claims or be paid 300 Karolus guldens, plus costs. After postponements on 27 October, the court upheld the plaintiff in his claim, granting the plaintiff’s request that a month be given during which the decision would be submitted to arbiters. If an agreement could not be reached, the parties were to return to court." |
