"Florys Hobbenz, representing Cornelis Symonsz, skipper, sues Cornelis Mathysz and Daniel Willemsz, as officers of the confraternity of St. Barbara, held in the St. Pancraes church in Leiden, for 8 Karolus guldens, which they had promised the plaintiff in the presence of Jacop Phillipsz Cruyter, sculptor, as a means to prevent the plaintiff’s foreclosure on the furniture belonging to Jacop Phillipsz, as a result of an agreement reached on 21 March last. The plaintiff demands immediate payment after the decision in this case, plus 5 groot for current and future costs."
