"Cornelis Geryt Symonsz, innkeeper in the inn called “Inden Hulck,” sues Katryn Baerntsdr van Dorsten, saying that he gave her, his maidservant, a chest to which she had a key containing a black hat decorated with ribbon on which were hanging silver ornaments with the coat-of-arms and other symbols of the fullers of this city; and, as she cannot deny she received that from him, he demands that she be required by a court decision to return it, or else pay 8 Karolus guldens, plus 5 groot and legal costs. On 14 July, the court absolved the defendant, who lodged a complaint for injuries, damage, and interest."
