| ""Dr F. Eising, managing director of special projects at Thales Nederland BV, has been appointed dean of the Faculty of Engineering Technology as of 15 May. Rikus Eising (1948) succeeds Prof. J. Croonen, who served as interim dean since Prof. Henk Grootenboer retired in November 2005. Rikus Eising studied applied mathematics in Groningen and received his PhD in 1980 in Eindhoven. He remained at the Eindhoven University of Technology until moving to Thales in Hengelo, a company known at the time as Hollandse Signaalapparaten BV. In the course of his career, Eising has held several management posts at Thales. He was also responsible for major international collaboration projects. Eising is also chairman of the board of the Inter-University Dutch Institute of Systems and Control (DISC) and a member of the board of governors of Mechatronic Valley Twente, a joint venture in mechatronic systems and materials in which Twente-based companies and the UT work together. Eising was until recently chairman of the board of the Drebbel Institute, UTs mechatronic research institute."" | |
