    ns1:abstract "\"Agli showroom Olivetti si deve la diffusione nel mondo della filosofia e dello stile dell’azienda di Ivrea: luoghi dove arte, design e architettura si fondono per promuovere prodotti aziendali legati agli ideali di bellezza e di attenzione al contesto sociale. Il volume, interamente illustrato a colori, offre un percorso fra gli interni dei negozi storici della Olivetti, dagli anni trenta agli anni settanta, in Italia e nel mondo. Le fotografie di Ugo Mulas, Erich Hartmann, Paolo Monti, Ezra Stoller, Jean-Louis Bloch-Lainé, Giorgio Colombo, documentano le opere straordinarie, esito dell’intelligente e visionaria committenza della Società: i negozi di Carlo Scarpa del 1957 a Venezia, di Franco Albini e Franca Helg del 1959 a Parigi, di Gae Aulenti del 1966-1967, sempre a Parigi. Gli showroom di Chicago e San Francisco, progettati negli anni cinquanta da Leo Lionni e Giorgio Cavaglieri, il negozio di Düsseldorf, concepito negli anni sessanta da Ignazio Gardella e quello nel palazzo della Hispano Olivetti di Barcellona dello studio BBPR. Il catalogo documenta la quarta mostra del ciclo «Olivetti e la cultura nell’impresa responsabile» nelle sale del Museo Civico Garda di Ivrea. Segna una nuova tappa nel percorso di valorizzazione della raccolta di opere d’arte Olivetti e del patrimonio storico dell’Associazione Archivio Storico Olivetti.\"-- Provided by publisher [volume 4]."@en,
        "\"Il catalogo documenta la terza mostra realizzata dal Museo Civico Garda di Ivrea nell'ambito del ciclo 'Olivetti e la cultura nell'impresa responsabile', concepito per far conoscere al grande pubblico un patrimonio di opere d'arte, fotografie, filmati e documenti commissionati dalla società Olivetti per affermare il valore della cultura come fattore di crescita della società, dalla fabbrica al territorio.\"-- Provided by publisher [volume 3]."@en,
        "\"Il nome di Giorgio Soavi (1923-2008) è sinonimo dello stile Olivetti. Intellettuale poliedrico, scrittore e fine conoscitore delle arti grafiche è stato anche un intelligente collezionista di opere d’arte. I quadri - ha confidato in un suo libro del 1993 - si acquistano per poterne scrivere. Soavi era entrato in Olivetti a 24 anni, incontrando per la prima volta Adriano Olivetti 'nel suo ufficio in quella grande fabbrica di vetro e cemento progettata dagli architetti Figini e Pollini'. Nella portaerei, come l’aveva soprannominata, fa esperienza di una 'nuova realtà alleata all’utopia'. Dopo un primo incarico alle Edizioni di Comunità, dagli anni ’50 inizia a curare i progetti d’arte ed editoria dell’azienda. Il volume contiene una ricca antologia di testi: la scrittura di Giorgio Soavi scorre tra i libri, gli oggetti, i documenti e le opere di artisti come Alberto Giacometti, Marino Marini, Graham Sutherland, Jean-Michel Folon. Il catalogo completa la collana «Olivetti e la cultura nell’impresa responsabile», nata per documentare il ciclo di sei mostre realizzate al Museo Civico Garda di Ivrea in collaborazione con l’Archivio Storico Olivetti.\"-- Provided by publisher [volume 6]."@en,
        "\"The exhibition is part of a long term programme of events that the Museo Civico della Città di Ivrea and the Associazione Archivio Storico Olivetti will curate to make the works of art in the Collezione Olivetti accessible to the public, closely linked to the historical documentation that reconstructs the process of their acquisition. This is a cultural wealth of documents, films and photographs, which the Olivetti company commissioned and purchased over the years and which recognises the value of culture as a growth factor in society, from factory to region. The project comes within the agreement signed last February by the Comune di Ivrea, the Associazione Archivio Storico Olivetti, Tim and Olivetti and is intended to highlight the Ivrea company's works of art and make them accessible. The exhibition contains a selection of more than one hundred works of art by thirty two artists and more than one hundred documents from the archive and library of the Associazione Archivio Storico Olivetti (posters, leaflets, historic films, publications, photographs and correspondence), once again presented to the public after the only previous exhibition in 2002 at the Officina H in Ivrea, on the occasion of the '55 artisti del Novecento dalla raccolta Olivetti' exhibition, thus opening up a pathway of progressive knowledge and the full enjoyment of numerous parts of this considerable, extraordinary collection. The exhibition expresses the concept of culture and the 'means of culture', with a graduated view, through the organisation of a system called for by the company and its people (first of all the directors of the Biblioteca di Fabrica and Centro Culturale Olivetti, then under the responsibility of the Direzione Relazioni Culturali Disegno Industriale e Pubblicità and the Servizi Culturali Olivetti) to propagate and expand opportunities for knowledge of and contact with art. This very rich programme of events, exhibitions and publications is the result of voluntary action, of a systematic and effective internal organisation at the service of the community, and has gradually become an identifying element of the company, emblematic of its public recognition in Italy and throughout the world. From factory to region, from Ivrea to the world's great museums, by way of progressive studies on a time scale spanning the entire second half of the last century.\"-- Introduction (page 99 [volume 1])."@en,
        "\"The focus of the second catalogue is the Belgian artist Folon, as a paradigmatic example of the relationships between Olivetti and contemporary artists. Folon illustrated the first desk agenda of 1969 for Olivetti, two coffee-table books in the 1970s and a calendar. He worked extensively for the company in the field of graphic arts, communication and design, producing graphic works, posters, gift items, merchandising objects and advertising campaigns.\"-- Provided by publisher [volume 2]."@en,
        "\"The itinerary of this exhibition, consisting of over ninety works, with a layout designed to highlight each individual painting, presents an articulated panorama of the new art languages that emerged in Italy between the 1950s and the early 1990s. The works of abstract and informal art in the Olivetti Collection dialogue with contemporary works in the Civic Collection, and the exhibition provides an opportunity to discover an artistic heritage of the City of Ivrea that is almost completely new. A corporate collection and a public collection, created in different ways and for different purposes but sometimes converging on certain artists. [...] The exhibition does not have the presumption of being able to illustrate the complex and multifaceted evolution of the various movements and groups that developed from the post-war period to the threshold of the 1990s, but rather aims to bring to light and highlight the conscious choices or sometimes randomness that determined the purchase or donation of certain significant works.\"-- Introduction (pages 146-147 [volume 5])."@en ;
