schema:abstract "In Amsterdam, the brothers are in Visscher's \"Konst en Caertwynckel\". Uffenbach's brother purchases many beautiful engravings by old masters for a good price. They visit several bookshops and then the Nieuwe Kerk. Uffenbach describes the building and praises the wood-carved pulpit. The next day, the brothers visit the gentlemen 'Lesser von Augspurg' and after, a shop on the Nieuwendijk on the opposite side of their inn. Above the door it reads: 'Alderhande rariteyten te Koop' [All sorts of curioisities for sale]. Uffenbach describes the wares in the shop: all kinds of curiosities and naturalia but also paintings and antiquities. He offers a beautiful Andromeda carved in ore, one ell-high, for 100 guilders and a Hercules carved in stone for 17 guilders. Uffenbach buys 60 small cut antique stones and 50 silver medals." ;
