    schema:abstract "Otra recepta ad idem. Take egg white, very diluted in water, with a sponge or a clean white wool cloth, and let rot for 30 days. Take an egg-sized portion of powdered gypsum, a walnut-sized portion of Armenian bole, a chickpea-sized portion of aloe, three threads of saffron and a lentil-size portion of Jewish. Mix all this with the egg white and dilute until it can run through the quill. After writing, let dry well and use a scraper, but little by little. Afterwards, (//f.233v) apply the gold and press hard with an ox tooth, and burnish, in the same way that you burnish a golden cup. And if the leaf breaks use as much ear wax as you need. Before applying the leaf, make sure that the parchment is free of fat; if there is any, rub hard with a good chunk of bread crumb. The resulting mix should look like little nuggets, and you have to dilute it in a mix of water and gum (previously boiled)." ;
